Vaughn brought the heat to Miami with a second-place qualifying position making for three consecutive top-five qualifying starts this year. Another first place podium finish makes for two victories this season, with four Formula Drift rounds left to go. Historically, Vaughn is the only Formula Drift driver to take two consecutive Formula Drift event wins since he himself did so back in 2012.

“It feels really amazing to be here and come to a brand new track and work with my team to get my Monster Energy Nitto Tire Ford Mustang RTR on rails,” says Vaughn. “To be able to hit every mark and be able to compete with some of the best drivers in the world feels awesome. Back to back wins is just amazing. We’re working hard and it just feels good that it’s paying off and I’m just pumped.”

Vaughn remains in second place in the Formula Drift point standings, but continues to narrow the gap between himself and first place keeping his run for the Championship very much alive. With Vaughn’s contributing two wins, Ford is in the lead for the Formula Drift OEM Manufacturer’s Championship and Nitto Tire is in second place for the Tire Manufacturer’s Championship.
